Modular door systems for side-doors and liftgates
Our product spectrum covers all the concepts known to the market: from the door system with metal carrier through highly integrated plastic carrier systems to the almost complete door including frame, seal and glass. We supply the products on a just-in-sequence basis in line with our customers’ own vehicle production schedule.
The specific combination of different components generates synergetic effects: the reduction of part costs and assembly effort, an increase in the level of quality through pre-checked components as well as the separation of the door into a wet and dry area.
We gain cost and weight benefits by achieving maximum integration of components and functions in a single overall system. As the world market leader, we have vast experience in design and production; every third door system produced in the world comes from a Brose plant.
Door system with frame
The door system with frame combines the main components of the vehicle door on one carrier module: window regulator, glass, latch, cable harness, electronic control unit, loudspeaker and seals.
Steel functional carriers
Door systems with functional carriers made of steel can be used in different car models. They play a major role in enhancing the strength of the door and subsequently, crash safety. By reducing the thickness of the panel, weight savings of almost 15 percent can be achieved.
A door system with a fiberglass reinforced plastic functional carrier integrates window regulator rails, loudspeaker frame, inner handle, fixing elements for cables and other components on to the module carrier. Compared to steel carrier modules, weight savings of one to three kilograms can achieved, providing cost benefits for the automakers. Despite its lightweight design, this door system meets the safety requirements stipulated in the side-door crash test.
The modular liftgate includes the frame, glass and functional components. It can be optionally supplied with inner trim and painted body shell. Power closure systems provide high levels of comfort and safety. The liftgate can be opened via remote control, the opening angle can be varied and memorized. This can, for example, prevent the liftgate hitting the garage roof. The drives are equipped with "anti-trap" technology. In the event of an obstruction, the closing process is halted immediately.
Latch module
A latch module consists of the latch, the inside door handle as well as all other relevant electrical and mechanical connections combined into one sub-assembly. The fact that the latch module is a pre-checked unit simplifies and shortens installation at the automaker’s assembly line.
