Electronics for vehicle seats
Seat systems are increasingly equipped with an electronic control-unit. These are developed in-house, since the perfect interplay of mechanics, electrics and electronics is an essential precondition for ensuring safety and comfort as well as maintaining our competitive edge as a system supplier.
Brose electronics set standards in terms of function and costs. The interfaces of the products are standardized and linked via local or central bus-systems with the overall vehicle electronics architecture – meeting the individual requirements of the respective automaker.

Seat control-unit
The electronic system with position memory saves the individual seat settings of up to three vehicle users which can be accessed at the touch of a button if there is any driver change. Apart from the memory function, the seat control-unit also regulates the speed control of the electro-motor drives, achieving a noise reduction of approx. 5 dB (A) compared to conventional systems as well as smooth adjustments.

Electronics for massage function
The additional electronics for power lumbar supports regulate a massage function designed to relax a car occupant’s back muscles and stimulate blood circulation during long car trips. These electronics are not integrated into the seat control-unit but are installed as an independent component which means manual seats can also be equipped with the comfort function.
