Adjuster drives

As the demand for more comfort in the vehicle increases, so does the proportion of electric and electronic functions. With the latest generation of electric drives, we have not only reduced the number of components but also developed smaller, quieter and lighter units which, as far as torque, power and reliability are concerned, exceed the solutions commonly available on the market. 

Brose makes it more comfortable and, at the same time, safer to operate a vehicle with its electric drives for window regulators and sunroofs, which can be optionally equipped with electronics.

Drives for window regulators
The new generation of window regulator motors are quieter, smaller and lighter than their predecessors. By using plastic instead of steel and eliminating components, we are able to significantly reduce weight.

The Brose window regulator 17-watt drive is based on an optimized drive concept for the car’s rear doors. Using smaller and fewer components as well as less material, significant weight and space savings can be achieved.

Drive for sunroofs
The Brose sunroof actuator with it’s compact design is based on the Brose window regulator motors. Using different electronics located on the gear housing, comfort and safety functions such as power opening/closing at the touch of the buttow as well as an anti-trap feature are possible.

The comfort car drivers expect and the subsequent demand for power adjusters is constantly on the increase. That’s why we have transferred the principle of modular design to our seat adjuster motors. The Brose comfort seat can, for example, offer up to 18 electrically controlled adjustment possibilities – from basic functions such as the length adjuster to comfort functions like the lumbar support.

The BMS 29 is offered in different performance categories – depending on its area of application. Through the use of smaller, high-quality magnets, the power density can be increased and the weight reduced by approx. 200 grams.

Spindle drive for liftgates
The spindle drive enables the liftgate to be opened and closed almost noise-free in approx. six seconds. Due to its small diameter,  the drive provides not only space savings but also obvious weight savings.  Easy to assemble in the automaker’s production process, the spindle drive can be fitted on the same assembly line as the gas strut.

Drive for side-doors
A drive for side-doors, allows the car doors to be opened and closed comfortably by remote control.  There are great benefits to be had from integrated electronics,  even in manual door actuation: a door-check holds the door open at any position, during closing, an electronic control-unit decelerates the door slam speed. At the same time, the collision and anti-trap features make opening and closing doors safer.

Drive for sunblind
Compared to today’s series solutions, the new drive for sunblinds provides significant weight and cost benefits. The standardized concept can be easily adapted to different vehicles – either as separate components or integrated into a door system. Brose uses electric motors for this drive, which have already proved to be successful in a variety of car lines, already in series production.

The clutch pedal and gear shift lever are replaced with shift paddles on the steering wheel or a shifter on the center console.  Precise and efficient shifting, without manual clutch actuation is made possible with our Automated Manual Transmission actuators.

This drive allows Brose to offer a high level of standardization based on the experience of 500,000 units produced a year. Their robust, brushless design has been developed to be reliable and to last over a long lifetime. The use of rare earth magnets deliver an exceptionally high power output and provide weight savings..
