Brose intensifies e-business activities

Brose Group. By using the most advanced information technology in its administrative departments, Brose has come a long way toward having “paperless offices”. Brose employees can now access their own databases and the software they need by entering their personal password at any PC workplace at any of the company’s locations worldwide. The company’s own satellite-assisted network facilitates speech, video and data transmission.

The automotive supplier’s customers have meanwhile intensified their exchange of information and documents via electronic avenues. In the future, all business transactions such as enquiries, orders and purchasing contracts between the Brose Group and DaimlerChrysler and General Motors worldwide will only be conducted via the internet. DaimlerChrysler has developed its own solution called “e-Docs” for the exchange of documents. General Motors uses the electronic marketplace “Covisint”. These initiatives enable the Brose Group to implement their modern in-house working processes beyond their own corporate boundaries.

Brose is also getting its suppliers to collaborate electronically. By launching its own internet portal, the company intends to optimize and to accelerate business processes involving its own suppliers.
