Brose awards international scholarships

Coburg (October 28, 2004). For the first time since the Brose scholarship program began in 2000, the automotive supplier is specifically targeting international students of engineering. Beginning in January 2005, two scholarships will be awarded to students from the Czech Republic, China and the USA. Brose will be stepping up its activities in these countries over the coming years.

By awarding these scholarships, the family-owned company, which operates internationally, wishes to win performance-driven and dedicated young people for the company when they later embark on their professional life. Besides providing financial support, the students of mechanical, electrical, industrial and automotive engineering as well as of mechatronics will receive extensive supervision, additional training during their studies and the opportunity to do degree theses in the company.

The scholarship program is just part of the extensive support provided by the company for young people. The manufacturer of components and systems for vehicle doors and seats annually takes on 200 interns and 50 students preparing their degree theses.

The scholarship program targets students who have passed their preliminary degree exams with exceptionally good results, who can display team spirit, communication skills and openness. The full benefit of the financial support is only truly felt by those who decide to work for Brose after completing their degree. The company is currently supporting twelve scholarship holders.

The closing date for applications for students from China, the Czech Republic and the USA is 15 December 2004. The person to contact is Achim Oettinger (Tel. +49 9561 21 1778, E-Mail: achim.oettinger@brose.net). His address is: Zentrales Personal, Ketschendorfer Str. 38-50, D-96450 Coburg.
