Ground-breaking ceremony: Jörgen Sträng, Vice-President Brose Sweden AB, Andreas Gühring, Executive Vice-President of the Brose Group, Owe Nilsson, City of Gothenburg, Kurt Sauernheimer, Executive Vice-President of the Brose Group, Norbert Gabriel, Manager new Brose plants (from l. to r.)
After start of production in 2006, Brose will supply door systems at a daily rate of 2,800 to the customer’s plant in line with the automaker’s own production schedule. This just-in-sequence delivery to Volvo, Brose’s main customer in Sweden, is made possible through the close proximity of both plants to each other. The Brose Group has been supplying all Swedish automotive manufacturers for decades. Since 1999, the automotive supplier has also had a sales and engineering office in Gothenburg.
By setting up a production plant in Gothenburg, Brose will create some 100 jobs. This figure could double with further orders. Brose is investing some €10 million in manufacturing facilities, equipment, information technology, ground and buildings at this new plant. The staff at the Gothenburg sales and engineering office are scheduled to move into the new plant in April 2005.
Brose has been developing and producing door systems for different automotive manufacturers worldwide since 1987 - to date, more than 40 million pieces. Depending on the customer’s wishes, Brose can supply door products ranging from individual components like window regulators, door latches and electronics as well as door systems with different technical variants right up to the complete door.
