Coburg (May 11, 2007). On the occasion of the Brose Group shareholder and supervisory board meeting on May 8, Michael Stoschek, Chairman of the Brose Group, bade farewell to the long-standing Chairman of the Brose supervisory board, Prof. Dr-Ing. h.c.mult. Hans-Jürgen Warnecke (73).

“For over three decades, Professor Warnecke has been an excellent advisor to the shareholders and the company’s management board. It is particularly important for me now to thank him for the contribution he made to the exceptional success of our family-owned company,” said Michael Stoschek.

Former President and Honorary Senator of the Fraunhofer Society, he headed the Brose supervisory board for more than eight years. In 2004, he handed over his position as chairman to Dr. Wolf-Dieter Kirchner, but remained a member of the supervisory board for another two and a half years, allowing the shareholders to continue to benefit from his many years of experience.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Dipl-Ing. Günther Schuh (48), chair of the production engineering faculty at the RWTH Aachen, has been appointed by the company shareholders to succeed Professor Warnecke on the supervisory board.

A graduate in mechanical engineering and business administration from the RWTH Aachen, he completed his doctorate in 1988. Initially a lecturer from 1990 to 2002, he was then made a professor and member of the governing body of the Institute of Technology Management at the University of St. Gallen (HSG).

In 2002, Prof. Schuh took over the chair of the production engineering faculty at the RWTH Aachen; at the same time, he was made a member of the governing body of the WZL and the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology (IPT). Since 2004, he has been a member of the governing body of the Research Institute for Operations Management (FIR) at the RWTH. Furthermore, he belongs to a number of supervisory and administrative boards.
