Brose one of the greatest job providers in 2006
Coburg (10.4.2007). According to a recent job survey - the only one of its kind questioning some 2,900 companies in Germany - carried out by the journal, WirtschaftsWoche, the Brose Group, finishing in 48th position, was the only automotive supplier out of the 50 greatest job providers in Germany in 2006.
The internationally operating specialist for mechatronic systems in vehicle doors and seats created 350 new jobs last year. As of December 31, 2006, there were approx. 9,130 employees from 55 nations working at almost 40 locations for the automotive supplier; more than half of them are employed in Germany.
Last year, approx. 170 young people were either being trained for one of the seven different types of technical or commercial apprentices on offer at the two Upper Franconian locations of Coburg and Hallstadt as well as in Wuppertal or they were studying for an engineering degree at the Universities of Cooperative Education in Stuttgart or Friedrichshafen.
The headcount growth in 2006 was primarily a result of production ramp-ups in the new Brose plants of London/Canada, Gothenburg/Sweden and Sindelfingen as well as being due to an increase in activities in the Asian business.
Despite the tough market environment, the Brose Group once again succeeded in extending its market position in the two business segments of door and seat. The seat adjuster business was able to post the greatest growth.
The company expects to see exceptional growth in this business segment over the next few years by extending its product portfolio and winning additional orders in the key regions of Asia and North America.
Given this situation, there will be approx. 80 new jobs available in sales and development worldwide in 2007 to process new customer projects in the seat business alone; more than half of these jobs will be at the company’s headquarters in Coburg/Germany.
