Brose acquires window regulator business in Brazil
Coburg/Curitiba, Brazil (16.09.2004). Brose do Brasil Ltda., a company of the Brose Group, is to take over the window regulator business of the Maxion Sistemas Automotivos S.A., a subsidiary of the Iochpe-Maxion Group. Representatives of both companies signed the purchase agreement in Sao Paulo on 10 September 2004.
This acquisition of the business with manual and power window regulators will make Brose the biggest supplier of window regulator systems in Brazil with a volume of approximately 4 million units a year. These products are supplied to Volkswagen, DaimlerChrysler, General Motors, Iveco, Fiat, Ford, Honda and Toyota as well as the export markets of China and South Africa. Brose do Brasil is also currently producing door systems for Volkswagen and seat adjusters for Keiper, Lear and Johnson Controls.
The transfer of the production facilities and test equipment from the Maxion plant in Belo Horizonte to the Brose production site in Curitiba is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year. Headcount will have increased to 450 by this time, too. Brose in Brazil expects to generate business of 210 million real (60 million euro).
