A spur to further efforts

The Brose plant in Querétaro, where window regulators are produced for the US market, achieved a clear increase in productivity this year.

Querétaro/Puebla (11/2001). In mid-October, CEO Michael Stoschek paid a visit to both of the Mexican Brose locations in Querétaro and Puebla. In his address to the workforce of both plants, Stoschek emphasized how successful they had been with regard to the result, productivity and quality. This development was particularly remarkable in view of the unexpected weaker economic development in the USA since the beginning of the year which was aggravated even further after the terror strikes in New York. This development is putting a strain particularly on our plant in Querétaro where window regulator exclusively destined for the US market are produced.

Good starting point for developing business activities even further
By introducing cost-cutting measures early on, the plant of Querétaro has succeeded in stabilizing its result at a level similar to the year before. Despite stagnating turnover, our plant in Puebla was able to increase its result even further. Apart from making adjustments to the number of employees, there has also been, for example, a reduction in the costs for rework actions, production downtime has been minimized and material stocks reduced. Numerous technical and organizational measures taken in the manufacturing area have led to an increase in workforce productivity as well as to an improvement in internal material flows. When comparing the delivery quality throughout the whole corporate group, the top two positions go to Puebla and Querétaro, which is, especially for Querétaro, a significant improvement on last year. In spite of the uncertain market development both of the plants have a good basis for developing their business activities even further.
