Brose plant in Meerane is “Factory of the year 2000”

The GEO-Award

Participating in this contest is, above all, a welcome opportunity for Brose to take part in an external independent benchmarking. Plant manager Drewniok argues:“ In this way we gain an objective impression of our competitive position. We get an insight into where there is potential for improvement, which we can then make use of when setting our aims.”

Since the beginning of 2000 Brose has also been producing power window regulators for the C-class from DaimlerChrysler. Apart from window regulators, the company also produces door systems in Meerane, Saxony, including the Volkswagen models “Golf” and “Passat”. The window regulator series for the all-terrain vehicle “Colorado”/”Cayenne” developed by Volkswagen and Porsche as well as the C-class coupé from DaimlerChrysler will start up in Meerane in 2001. Meerane was the first German plant in the Brose Group where the environment management of Brose was certified according to the recognized quality norm ISO 14001 in September 2000.
An assembly operator is working at the test facilities for door systems.
