35th Tokyo Motor Show: Brose satisfied with positive outcome

Coburg/Tokyo (11/2001). From 27th October to 7th November, Brose is among the exhibitors taking part in the Tokyo Motor Show - the third-largest motor-show worldwide after the IAA in Frankfurt and the SAE Show in Detroit. About 1.2 million visitors have visited the event in Tokyo this year.

The Asian-Pacific region is becoming increasingly important for Brose Fahrzeugteile GmbH and Co. KG, which has its company headquarters in Coburg. “We have been supplying the European plants of Honda, Toyota and Mitsubishi from our British plant in Coventry for over ten years now. Despite the weakening economy in the automotive sector, we are anticipating an increase in sales with the Japanese automotive manufacturers next year. We will use the Motor Show to strengthen even further our business relations with the central headquarters of the Japanese manufacturers. Together with our cooperation partner Shiroki, we are also aiming at producing window regulators, door systems and seat adjusters in Japan for vehicles manufactured there”, says Adolf Rosensprung, Executive Vice-President of the Brose Group. Brose has its own sales and engineering office in Nagoya, the center of the Japanese automotive industry, thus ensuring the close contact necessary to the customers.

The manufacturers’ concentration on their core competencies has led to a massive shift in the distribution of tasks between the automotive manufacturers and the suppliers in Japan as well. The German automotive suppliers are also benefiting from this trend of the OEMs toward reducing their number of manufacturing levels and handing over responsibility for the development and production of complex modules to system suppliers.
