Brose appeal for earthquake victims in China

Shanghai May 12, 2008: The strongest earthquake for 30 years has shaken China, creating scenes of havoc and suffering in the region of Sichuan. Photos of the quake have gone round the world, instilling in many people a desire to help.
 
Brose Group is supporting the aid effort too, encouraging the workers of the Brose plants in Shanghai, Changchun and Wuhan to launch appeals. After only a few days, CNY 84,000 (more than €8000) had been raised. Brose Group incremented this to a total of CNY 320,000 (more than €30,000) which was donated to the Chinese Red Cross to be made available as emergency aid for victims. “We are shattered by the sheer extent of the devastation caused by this natural catastrophe,” said Jörg Krämer, Manager Human Resources Asia. “With this financial support, we want to help the region’s inhabitants to rebuild their lives.”
 
The employees of the Brose plants are continuing to collect funds even after the official donation. The money raised will again go to the Chinese Red Cross.
