USA: Jefferson
In March 2009, in anticipation of new production contracts for our customers Ford and Chrysler, our Jefferson assembly facility for door and closure systems in Warren, Michigan, began operations. A total of US$ 15 million has been invested in production lines, plant equipment, information technology, land, and construction.
Just 40 kilometers (25 miles) from Brose’s American headquarters in Detroit, the plant produces closure systems for eight different Ford models; in late 2009, the manufacturer of door and seat systems for two Chrysler models will be added.
As a consequence of our continuous efforts toward cutting-edge technology, superior quality, and cost effectiveness, we have been able to further expand our market share in North America with new supplier contracts, despite the overall decline of automobile demand in this region.
