Protecting the environment is an integral part of Brose’s corporate strategy and has a long tradition

As a partner to the international automobile industry, we support our customers in their commitment to protecting our environment, offering them environmentally compatible production processes and recyclable products, as well as a consistently high level of quality and cost-effectiveness.

Protecting the environment is an integral part of Brose's corporate strategy and has a long tradition: we have been designing and making products for cars for almost 100 years. This extensive experience has helped us to establish environmental standards which we implement all over the world.

Our environmental policy comprises a set of guidelines that are binding for all Brose employees. The idea of sustainability is firmly anchored in our family-owned, long-term oriented company. As early as the product design stage, we take into account environmental and recycling requirements, assessing our products on the basis of a life cycle inventory and disassembling studies.

Using intelligent lightweight design solutions, we have in recent years played a major part in optimizing the weight of vehicles and subsequently in reducing CO2 emissions. Our global responsibility for the environment calls for the continuous improvement of production processes. Aspects like resource consumption, waste generation and emissions are already taken into account during the planning phase and monitored by a performance measurement system.

We have the efficiency of our process system and our successes in increasing sustainability assessed at our locations worldwide by certification bodies. The Brose Environmental Management System is based on the standard ISO 14001.

We also involve our business partners in our environmental protection activities: our goal to produce in an environmentally compatible way is therefore not only restricted to our own production facilities but also includes the materials and components we source from our suppliers.
