Good Prospects: The Trainee Program

Are you looking for exciting opportunities within an international and dynamic working environment and do you want to experience various different departments of a functional area in your first year on the job? We have a wide variety of opportunities for candidates who are resourceful, interested in engineering, proactive and who wish to take on responsibility at an early stage.

Many of our top managers started working for our family-owned company as trainees. The Executive Vice-President of our production division, Thomas Spangler, is one of them. After finishing his studies, he joined our training program in 1992 and just two years later was responsible for production at our Querétaro plant in Mexico. After this, Thomas Spangler went on to manage our largest plant in Coburg and he has been the general manager responsible for our production plants worldwide since July 2005.

Systematic preparation

Our training program prepares you for operational and leadership tasks both in Germany and abroad. Over the course of 15 months, you will work through a systematic and individual program which trains you for the specific requirements of a functional area, such as controlling or production engineering. We will challenge you with demanding projects which you will take individual responsibility for. Your individual development will be further enhanced by a comprehensive range of further training measures and intensive support from mentors in your respective roles.

It is possible to join our program at any time and you will have a permanent employment contract right from the start. We want to provide you good with long-term career prospects at our company.

At the start of the program, you will get to know our production systems and products over a two-week period. After this, you will spend approximately 3 months in each of the departments of your functional area. You will also have the opportunity to develop your experience by spending up to three months in a related department in a different functional area. At the end of the program, you will work at one of our foreign sites for approximately 3 months. This will give you the opportunity to make yourself familiar with different working methods and the respective language while also strengthening your intercultural skills and allowing you to build up a network of international contacts.

Further training to boost your skills

The trainee program is supplemented by a demanding and diverse off-the-job training program with workshops and seminars to further develop your operational and decision-making skills. The training includes courses on public speaking, presentation techniques and project management.
